Woke up to some light rain. We packed up and had coffee in town
before heading out to our last few miles of climbing. We had a
great ride through the 'Big Savage Tunnel' (yowling for echos
the whole way through!) and enjoyed views of windmills on Mt.
Savage. Powered through the continental divide, where it was
great to see that everyone on both approaches was relieved to
finally hit the downhill portion of their ride.
We stopped in
Meyersdale for lunch at the GI Day Room where we had some
intense and tasty pancakes. After lunch we made our way to
Ohiopyle. We passed over lots of beautiful bridges and entered
into a pretty forest. We were quite tired by Ohiopyle so we ate
in town before heading to the state park to camp for the night.
The campsite was up a big hill where we had to walk our bikes
and packs, but we enjoyed a good fire and warm showers before
bed.
